James H. "Jim" McNary, 83

 Indianapolis resident James H. “Jim” McNary died Tuesday, November 21. He was 83.
Mr. McNary attended Purdue University and pursued a career in civil engineering. He later worked at Poindexter Excavating for 34 years as a construction estimator.
He was a member of VFW Post #261, Oaklandon Masonic Lodge and Indian Lake Country Club.
He shared his love of water and boating with many members of his family, as well as a number of good friends, often taking them to his boat on the Ohio River near his childhood hometown of Vevay.
Mr. McNary is survived by his sister, Doris Anne “Do” Onken; two daughters, Marla Carlson and Taunia Price, one stepson, Ricky Eaton, eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Ruth Miller McNary, and stepdaughter, Becky Eaton Rymer.
Visitation was held Monday, November 27, at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. The funeral service was conducted immediately following visitation. Burial was at Fillmore Cemetery, Fillmore, Indiana.
