Freda Joy Skaggs, 57

 Vevay, Indiana resident Freda Joy Skaggs died Wednesday, October 18, at her home. She was 57.
Mrs. Skaggs was a graduate of Switzerland County High School. She received a degree in business and an associates degree as a registered nurse from Ivy Tech Community College in Madison. She was the Assistant Director of Nursing at Gallatin Nursing & Rehab in Warsaw for more than 18 years.
She was a member of the New Macedonia Regular Baptist Church in Newport.
She is survived by her husband, Kip A. Skaggs, Sr. of Vevay; her mother, Geneva Johnson of Vevay; four sisters, Helen Gabbard, Jalia Nelson, Carolyn Burns, Lake Rayles and Nancy Rose; and five brothers, Larry Johnson, Fred Johnson, Phillip Johnson, Mitchell Johnson, and Mark Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Johnson; one son, Kip Arthur “Kippy” Skaggs; and one brother, Paul Johnson.
Visitation was held Saturday, October 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Rev. Patrick Turner conducted the funeral service at 1 p.m., Sunday, October 22. Burial was at Vevay Cemetery.
