William Perry Rankin III, 70

 William Perry Rankin III died Saturday, July 15. He was 70.
Mr. Rankin was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He was a design draftsman for Goodyear off-road brakes in Berea and for Arvin Meritor in Michigan and Florence.
He was fan of University of Kentucky sports, a model truck and railroad enthusiast and genealogist, and a volunteer firefighter.
He is survived by his wife, Martha J. Napier Rankin; two sons, William IV and Collin; one brother, Jack; and one grandson, Elliott William.
Services were held Tuesday, July 18, in Powell County and he was buried in the family cemetery near Clay City.
