Janet P. Carlton, 85

Janet P. Carlton of Warsaw died Sunday, October 2, at Providence Healthcare of Gallatin. She was 85.
Mrs. Carlton worked alongside her husband and best friend, Ulous, at the family business, Carlton Funeral Home, in Warsaw. Many families remember her for the comfort she gave the bereaved. She also helped her husband with ambulance runs during that time.
Her care for her family was shown in her love of cooking, sewing, fishing and painting. She loved all animals but had a special interest in Tennessee Walking Horses. She bred, trained and showed her Tennessee Walkers often as evidenced by the numerous first place ribbons she received. She was awarded 7th place in the Lady’s Tennessee Walking Horse National Championship in 1972.
She placed first with her scenic painting in the Gallatin County Fair several years ago and was taught by well-known artist, Ann Eliese.
Mrs. Carlton is survived by one son, Randy Lovett; one daughter, Claudia Greene; seven grandchildren, Matthew Lovett, Josh Dickerson, Andrew Lovett, T.J. Greene, Christopher Adams, Shelley Enda, and Kelley McGarvey; and seven great-grandchildren, Maizy and Ayra Dickerson, Adilyn Greene, Taylor and Kendall McGarvey, and Jackson and Aiden Enda.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ulous Carlton.
Her love and appreciation for her dear friends in Warsaw will not be forgotten.
A private family memorial service is being planned.
