Elizabeth Jane Brightwell, 82

  Warsaw resident Elizabeth Jane Brightwell died Monday, November 15, at the Carroll County Hospital. She was 82 years old.
Mrs. Brightwell was a well-known figure in the community who was the pianist at the Consolidated Second Baptist Church every Sunday and provided the accompaniment to many choir performances and special services.
She was a reliable and dedicated precinct worker at many elections in the county and served on the Warsaw Board of Adjustments. She also was active with the Pine Ridge homemaker Club in Gallatin County, and her baked goods were highly desired and a staple of many fundraisers.
She is survived by her son, Harry Brightwell of Warsaw; one brother, Claude Sabsad of Lexington; four sisters, Mary Frances Warner of Cincinnati; Patricia B. Owens, Sallie Richards and Lana Ingram Webb, all of Warsaw; and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Brightwell; and one son, Leroy Brightwell Jr.
Visitation was held Wednesday, November 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Consolidated Second Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held immediately following visitation. Burial was at the Warsaw Cemetery.
