Dorothy E. Schmied Butler, 97

 Warsaw resident Dorothy E. Schmied Butler died Friday, October 22, at Gallatin Health Care. She was 97 years old.
Mrs. Butler worked as a pharmacist and purchased the former B.K. Bailey Pharmacy in Warsaw in the summer of 1958. She sold her drug store to her competitor, Warsaw pharmacist Bill Beverly, in the early 1960s. After working for several years in both Kentucky and Ohio, she returned to college to earn her masterís degree in Library Science from the University of Kentucky. She then worked for the Lloyd Library, which is a pharmaceutical library in Cincinnati. She remained a resident of Warsaw throughout this time.
Mrs. Butler is survived by a daughter, Judith Jones of Warsaw; one sister, Hilma Schlanser of Cincinnati; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
