Stephen Wayne Alford, 58

 Stephen Wayne Alford died Thursday, July 10, at St. Elizabeth Grant County in Williamstown. He was 58 years old.
Mr. Alford was pastor of Gumlick Baptist Church in Falmouth and the former pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Dry Ridge, East Bend Baptist Church in Boone County, Clover Bottom Baptist Church in Versailles, and Belleview Baptist Church.
He was on the boards of the Verona Fire Department and the Kentucky Farm Bureau in Boone County.
He was a graduate of Walton-Verona High School, Cumberland College and Southern Theological Seminary.
Mr. Alford was also a part time employee of Grant County Auto and Tire City, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Carol Huffman Alford; one son, Tom Alford of Verona; one daughter, Stephanie Brunner of Tennessee; one brother, Todd Porter of North Carolina; one sister, Karla Porter of Crestwood; six grandchildren.
Visitation was held Sunday, July 13, from 4 to 8 p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church in Verona.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 14, at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the South Family Resource Youth Center Weekend Backpack Meal Program in Falmouth c/o Gerald Galloway, Gumlick Baptist Church, 131 Austin Drive, Crittenden.
Stanley Funeral Home of Williamstown handled the arrangements.
