Ella Jean Smith Lawson, 68

 Verona resident Ella Jean Smith Lawson died Saturday, July 31, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. She was 68 years old.
Mrs. Lawson was a homemaker and a farmer.
She is survived by her husband, Willard Lawson of Verona; her mother, Hazel Smith of Cookeville, Tenn.; two daughters, Freida Gwen Perks and Deine Lawson of Verona; one son, Terry Lawson of Verona; four brothers, Clyde Smith of Warsaw, Charles Ray Smith of Beaver Creek, Ohio; Roy Smith of Elsmere and Donnie Smith of Campton; nine sisters, Margaret Lawson, Glorene Looper, Lillian Brewer and Regina Gale Austin of Cookeville, Tenn.; Alene Ivey of Dayton, Ohio; Phyllis Dunn of Campton, Ky.; Irene Foley of Bethel, Ohio; Carldene Creech of Rogers, Ky.; and Evalee Dial of Livingston, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Tuesday, August 3, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Sherman Full Gospel Assembly in Dry Ridge. The funeral service was held Wednesday, August 4, also at Sherman Full Gospel Assembly. Burial was at Napoleon Cemetery in Gallatin County. Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona handled the arrangements.
