John A. Boots, 60

 Owen County resident John A. Boots died Sunday, April 21, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison. He was 66 years old.
Mr. Boots attended Gallatin County High School and grew up on a farm in Glencoe.
He was retired from the Kentucky Utilities Power Plant at the Ghent Generating Station, where he worked as a supervisor.
He was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the Glencoe Baptist Church, and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Boots is survived by his wife, Patricia Burgess Boots of Perry Park; one son, Joshua Aaron Boots of Carrollton; two daughters, Mary Kathleen Smith of Sparta and Kerri Lanette Atkins of Bagdad; one brother, Tommy Boots of Louisville; one sister, Janet Faye Boots of Perry Park; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 24, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton. Rev. Frank McGee will conduct the funeral service on Thursday, April 25, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Napoleon Cemetery.
