Lawrence "Bear" Sullivan, 81

  Ghent resident Lawrence “Bear” Sullivan died Friday, January 25, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. He was 81 years old.
Mr. Sullivan maintained a strong work ethic for many years. He farmed, and he owned and operated a backhoe and bulldozer business. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by two sons, Roy and Mike Sullivan of Warsaw; two daughters, Gallatin County Circuit Clerk Pam McIntyre and Denise Wilhoite of Worthville; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Ligon Sullivan; one son, Steve Sullivan; one brother, Hansel Sullivan; and one sister, Ida “Sis” Dickerson.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 30, at Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home in Warsaw. Bro. Denny French will conduct the funeral service immediately following visitation.
Burial will be at the Warsaw Cemetery.
