Paul R. Black, 79

 Verona resident Paul R. Black died Tuesday, March 27, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. He was 79 years old.
Mr. Black was a painter for the L&N and CSX Railroads for 28 years. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Verona, a member of the Masonic Lodge and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a huge NASCAR fan, enjoyed golfing, carpenter, woodworking, and the guitar.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Biddle Black; three daughters, Tarina Goldsberry of Richwood, Teresa Tolliver of Dry Ridge and Bobbie Jo Black of Verona; one sister, Billie Jean Leek of Verona; and one grandchild.
Visitation was held Friday, March 30, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona. The funeral service was held Saturday, March 31, at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home. Burial was at New Bethel Cemetery in Verona.
