Charles William "Charlie Bill" Marshall, 86

 Sanders resident Charles William “Charlie Bill” Marshall died Tuesday, April 27, at Green Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carrollton. He was 86 years old.
Mr. Marshall was a retired farmer and a retired insurance agent for Gallatin County Fire, Wind and Lightning Insurance Company in Warsaw. He was also a former school bus driver for the Carroll County School System.
He was a Kentucky Colonel and a former member of I.O.O.F. Lodge in Ghent.
He is survived by one daughter, Donna Charlene Marshall of Sanders; one son, W.M. “Marty” Marshall of Carrollton; five sisters, Eula Robertson and Dona Wells of Carrollton; Joyce Boggs of Cincinnati; Judy Keith of Sanders and Jean Schirmer of Ghent; one brother, Robert Marshall of Louisville; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Rose Marshall; one sister, Dortha Parker; and one brother, Benjamin Richard “Dick” Marshall.
Visitation was held Thursday, April 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton. Rev. Jay Montgomery conducted the funeral service Friday, April 30, at 2 p.m. Burial followed at the Carrollton I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Pallbearers were Nicholas Marshall, Scott Schirmer, Richard Dale Marshall, Robert Marshall, David Cull and Marshall Robertson. Honorary pallbearers were David Barnes, Gordon Leary, and Mark Baldwin.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association or the Carroll County Relay for Life in care of Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton, KY 41008.
